Robert L. Hulett

Chairman & Managing Director

Mr. Hulett founded the firm in 1981 and has negotiated and completed more than 200 transactions throughout his career. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant and practiced with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in St. Louis as an Audit Manager and in New York as the Director of Training for Private Business. Mr. Hulett has also served as Chief Executive & Board Member for various middle market companies. As an educator, he was an adjunct professor at New York University and a tenured faculty member at Lindenwood University in St. Louis. He conducted training sessions for middle market CPA firms throughout the country for more than ten years. Mr. Hulett earned his BS/BA Cum Laude in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and an MBA from Lindenwood University.

R. Trevor Hulett

Managing Director

Mr. Hulett has led M&A transactions in a variety of industries including manufacturing/industrial, software development/IT, business services and value-added distribution. Prior to joining the firm, he held senior level accounting and financial management positions in both public accounting and large corporate environments. Mr. Hulett began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with MPP&W, a St. Louis-based public accounting firm specializing in middle market companies. He then held various management positions in internal audit and corporate accounting with a Fortune 1000 industrial manufacturing company and also spent nine years with Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company as a department manager in the Corporate Accounting group. Mr. Hulett holds his Series 62,63 and 79 securities registration as a registered representative of StillPoint Capital. Mr. Hulett earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Fred C. Dyer

Senior Vice President

Mr. Dyer has spent more than 30 years in Commercial Banking, where he has provided a full array of banking services to family-owned, middle market companies in a wide variety of industries and to retail consumer households. In addition to leading the commercial, retail, and fee income teams for Midwest BankCentre, Mr. Dyer also spent the last few years actively involved in their acquisition strategy. Mr. Dyer served as Regional President for Midwest BankCentre for the last 13 years. During his time with them, he also launched a full service property and casualty insurance agency. Mr. Dyer began his banking career with Mark Twain Bank in St. Louis where he has maintained involvement in the local community, serving on a variety of boards for non-profit organizations. Mr. Dyer earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Principia College and an MBA with an emphasis in finance from Washington University’s Olin School of Business.

Peter A Fischer

Director

Mr. Fischer has a professional background in finance, manufacturing and operations. He has more than 15 years of top-level manufacturing management and 10 years of financial industry experience. Mr. Fischer has M&A experience both as an advisor and business operator and focuses on manufacturing and logistics. He is a Board Member and acting President of Beehler Corporation, a manufacturer serving the automotive, defense, electrical and other industries. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Association of Manufacturers where he is engaged in its leadership and lobbying efforts. He is an active member of the Precision Metalforming Association and served as a Board Member from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Fischer earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business.

Holly B. Hart 

Director

Ms. Hart is a Certified Public Accountant with considerable transaction experience, including several years at Medicine Shoppe International where she was responsible for identifying, analyzing, and facilitating the acquisition and divestiture of retail pharmacies. Ms. Hart also served as a transaction professional for Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services group where she performed buy-side and sell-side due diligence for financial and strategic clients. Ms. Hart began her career at KPMG by auditing privately-held and publicly-traded companies, with her primary industry focus in the manufacturing and distribution sector. She is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia where she earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting.

Mr. Vass has over 30 years of business management experience including more than 10 years as President of a highly successful consumer products manufacturing company with revenues exceeding $25 million. During this time, he not only reversed a declining sales and earnings trend, but increased both sales and operating income over 100%. In addition, he has spent over 20 years at the executive level of Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Mr. Vass also has experience in a number of other industry niches including: consumer products, commercial furniture and fixtures and metal recycling. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from DePauw University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Carrie S. Stephens

Director of Marketing & Administration

Ms. Stephens provides marketing direction and manages the administrative support for senior-level deal managers where she ensures the proper processing of Confidentiality Agreements and distribution of Confidential Information Presentations; she facilitates email and direct-mail marketing campaigns, manages social media accounts, maintains the website configuration and data, and facilitates ongoing communication processes with clients, prospects, and referral sources. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Stephens was an Account Manager for a marketing company where she traveled the U.S. recruiting and training new associates with vital marketing techniques. She began her career in finance and insurance as a Financial Services Representative for Massachusetts Mutual. Ms. Stephens is a graduate of Truman State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with emphases in Marketing and Management and minored in Statistical Processing Methods.

Marketing & Administrative Assistant

Ms. Cross provides administrative support for senior-level deal managers where she processes Confidentiality Agreements, distributes Confidential Information Presentations, ensures proper completion of all necessary paperwork, and maintains all aspects of the office to guarantee the highest level of functionality. She also supports the marketing department by helping to maintain the firm’s database of 60,000+ contacts and assists with ongoing communication with clients, prospects, and referral sources. Ms. Cross earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University that enables her to assist with the firm’s marketing materials including graphic and content design and distribution.

Jerry Brown

Senior Advisor

Mr. Brown had a distinguished career in the electrical parts distribution industry. He joined United Electric Supply as a Sales Manager and became CEO in 1984. Under his leadership, the company established sophisticated computer systems that enabled it to deliver superior service and remain cost competitive. During his career, the company’s sales grew from $3.5 million to $70 million. In 2000, he presided over the sale of the company to Westburne Supply, a large publicly-held Canadian distributor. He has been a Director of several industry associations, including the National Association of Electrical Distributors and AAIM Management Association.

Wilson Lewis, Jr.

Senior Advisor

Mr. Lewis managed Systems Engineering and Marketing operations for IBM’s General Systems Division in Corpus Christi, Texas. From there he moved to Wang Laboratories where he served as District Manager overseeing Missouri, Kansas and Southern Illinois. As Director of Marketing, Mr. Lewis was a consultant for Kottmeier & Associates in St. Louis. Joining a heat management research firm, he served as President. Mr. Lewis holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He is certified in Production and Inventory Management by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).

William M. Sheridan, Jr. 

Senior Advisor

Mr. Sheridan has held Chief Executive positions in middle market companies since 1968. He is President of NewMex International, Inc., a product design and development firm. He has strong business development experience, including turnaround work and buying and selling numerous businesses; and extensive international business experience, particularly in Asia and Latin America. He developed and implemented an Activity-Based Costing System for manufacturers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
